The Real You Behind the Illusion

I am learning more and more about people that are around me at work or basically in every aspect of my life that their words do not align with their intent or actions. For example, I have family members, co-workers and people that are acquaintances that go faithfully to their place of worship all of the time.  When you talk to them they are generally pleasant on the surface but when you observe them deeper you see the real them. Their actions do not line up with the things that they do. I have found that the people that feel the need to have to put up these illusions in my experience are the same people that stab you in the back or do under-minded things to attempt to hinder your progress.  The amazing thing is that even when people do things to harm you, you have to take the positive from every negative situation.   These people are in fact helping you through your growth process by learning from these situations and moving on. Are You and your Family Prepared to Live of the Grid in an Emergency

I have been more away and honestly seriously thinking about what would my family and I do if there was an emergency happened and we had to survive without the normal luxuries that we are used to today.  When you watch the news daily(and movies such as After Earth with Will Smith  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1815862/ , And The Day After Tomorrow  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0319262/ ), I am sure like me, you have noticed more devastation occurring around the world from wars,  natural  and unnatural catastrophes. We has a human race truly do not prepare as much as we should in case of an emergency situation. I can with most certainty say that when I see a devastation on television, emergency preparation crosses my mind but fades until the next tragic new story comes on. Have we as a human race gotten so self absorbed by materialism? Are our children a result of this twisted behavior? Well if you look around throughout our society, advertisements, conversation adults and children have the answer is absolutely yes. I work very hard to humble my children by reminding them that their are people that have less than we have and they should be thankful and appreciate all that they have. I am not saying that we should not strive or desire the "good life" but I am saying that we should never be so self absorbed that our materialistic desires supersede our human duty to help one another and very importantly become bitter due to not being able to keep up with the Jones of the world. The other day I promised a child that would buy them sneakers when I received my paycheck. This child was wearing unbelievably worn out sneakers to school every day.
